Familiar scope
• Psychoeducational workshops: The workshop tries to give general information to the relatives in order to improve the comprehension and tolerance about the illness and look after people with mental illness efficiently. It also tries to improve the communication in the familiar core, learn adequate strategies to channel the emotions and increment the competences to solve the problems that can take place in the daily living with the patient.
• Groups of mutual help: These are small meetings that join themselves voluntarily in order to help each other mutually. The are made of people who live directly with a mentally ill person and they have associated freely without the supervision of a professional. They usually give material or emotional help and promote certain values through which the members can make their own identity stronger.
• Domiciliary care: It consists of a set of services which are carried out in the home of the users with the goal of giving personal support, care and help to people and/or families which have a lack of personal autonomy, difficulties or special familiar problems, avoiding or holding up not desired hospitalizations.
The more concrete aspects that we want to offer with this service are:
• Help in
the own home of people and families with lack of autonomy, concerning the
carrying out of tasks related to the personal care and concerning the tasks
of order and organization.
• Support to the person or family in front of situations of physical
or psychological overload, caused by a crisis situation or a social and family
problem.
• Access ease to resources or services of the community.
• Family respite: it’s a resource offered by the FECAFAMM, which
consists of giving support to the families that live together with people
who suffer from a severe mental disorder. Its goal is to alleviate temporarily
the emotional overload that these families may suffer, by means of weekend
trips or summer holidays and a specific respite at home.
• Support and assessment in specific moments. The association will act
as a mediator in the search for solutions in front of several kind of problems:
sanitary, social, juridical, … Besides, when the family requires it
there will be a continued service of orientation and assessment in sanitary,
social or legal subjects.
• Psychosocial care: It focuses in offering the necessary resources
to provide the maximum recovery of the family affected by severe problems
off the environment and offering the care that it may need in order to carry
out a decent life. It implies therefore a set of specific procedures like
a network of resources oriented to offer a higher welfare and quality of life
to the people who live with severe mentally ill. The strategies used will
be:
o Training of the competences of the family necessary to develop itself in its environment.
o The social intervention to offer necessary support to strengthen the functioning level of the family in its environment.
o Leisure activities: Activities of meeting among relatives in the scope of leisure and spare time.
o Formative activities: Conferences about specific themes of the mental illness, but also about themes that can be of interest to the families like the diet, consumption of toxics, etc.
Patient’s scope:
Social club: The social club tries to promote the personal relationships of the people affected from a severe mental disorder between them and the community, by means of the leisure. Thus it wants to contribute to give them a better perception of life, so that their integration in the community is correct. And at the same time it tried to deal with the individual interests of each user in order to work out the specific needs of each one. All by means of workshops related to computing, mass media, cooking, arts and crafts, excursions, etc. Besides it tries to establish encounters with other social clubs of Catalunya.
- Formative activities: training courses in collaboration with public or private services.
- Occupational activities: occupational workshops to get back the habit of work or to spend the empty hours in productive activities.
- Working reintegration: assessment and support so that the patient who requests it sets up an individual plan of working reintegration in order to achieve an effective working integration.
- Psychosocial care: it focuses on providing the necessary resources to achieve the maximum recovery of the individual affected by severe mental health problems and to provide him or her with the care that might need in order to carry out a decent life. It implies therefore a set of specific procedures like a network of resources oriented to provide a better welfare and quality of life to the people who suffer severe mental illnesses and their families.

- The social intervention to offer the necessary support to strengthen the
individual’s level of functioning in his or her environment.
- Support and assessment in specific moment: The association will act as a
mediator in the search for solutions in front of several kind of problems:
sanitary, social, juridical, … Besides, when the family requires it
there will be a continued service of orientation and assessment in sanitary,
social or legal subjects.
Community scope:
- Raise the awareness of the population in general: create a change in the attitudes and the prejudices that the people has of mental illnesses, thus reducing the stigma that this group suffers, by means of the presence in the mass media (magazines, newspapers, radio, etc.), editions of bulletins, conferences, and contact with the public and private institutions so that it promotes the creation of new resources for this group of people.
- Coordination with public and private entities.
Drug addiction:
- Activities of
sensitization and prevention: activities open to the population in general
and to the risk population in order to impact on the change of attitudes and
prejudices of the population. Besides, achieving that the population avoids
or reduces the consumption of drugs.
- Assessment: Assessment will be given to the people affected by any consumption
and their familiars, deriving them to the resources of treatment of the network
or to the corresponding resource.
- Support to the families and the affected people through the psychosocial
care: It focuses on providing the resources necessary to provide the maximum
recovery of the individual affected with severe problems of drug addiction
and giving him the care that he or she may need in order to have a good quality
of life.
